Investigation of accidents, sinkings, groundings and collisions to advise our principals of proximate cause. We assess the extent of the reported damage and comment upon what proportion is incident related. In all cases, we fully investigate the cause and nature of the incident and advise Underwriters of any physical or moral hazard associated with the risk, in addition to a claims reserve.
Sinking
We investigate the vessel history and the proximate cause for Underwriters to consider the claim under the policy terms and conditions. Assistance is provided to contact reputable salvage companies in the area of the incident.
Machinery Damage
A major part of our work for Underwriters is investigating and diagnosing machinery failures, of which we have gained a market wide reputation for providing factual explanatory concise reports. We also work closely with case specific diagnostic engineers and forensic laboratories to ensure that factual information is provided.
Forensic Photography
All of our damage investigation reports are supplied with high quality forensic photographs. Areas of damage are highlighted and scaled to assist in future analysis.
Fire Investigation
Fires are investigated to discover the extent of the damage and the probable cause. Fire scenes are secured and the evidence is systematically analysed. We have forensic scientists to assist when it is considered to be necessary.
Thefts & Fraud
From the outset, we have been recognised as specialist Loss Adjusters with a proportion of our work dealing with Major Complex Loss thefts and fraudulent claims. Thefts and frauds are investigated to conclusion using cognitive interview techniques, where necessary liaising with Underwriters appointed legal representatives. Having completed the IAMI Certified Marine Investigator qualification, we fully investigate all associated areas of the claim.
